Rain Horror in Uttarakhand

The state is facing a big disaster now days, and this disaster is flood, cloud burst and landslides. Thousands of pilgrims are ruined due to the killer rain. More than 30,000 tourists and pilgrims stranded in the Garwah hills. Thousands of people who had gone on a pilgrimage to Uttarakhand have gone missing and of some gone dead while returning from Kedarnath (The Shrine of Lord Shiva) to gaurikund. There are thousands of tourists are still missing due to rain horror which unfolds in these Himalayan ranges. Many of the hotels and dharamshalas are destroyed due to land sliding.

Road connectivity and so many bridges are washed away and vast swathes of land under water, it remained an uphill task. Many of buses, private taxis, cars are jammed here. The people crammed here are suffering from hunger and thirst. Many of them are died from this too. No proper food facility is delivered to the people, who stuck here, become another main cause of death. Medical facilities are also providing to the injured people. People are forced to spend their nights and days without the shelter, till the army didn’t reach to them or so other ways are found for rescue. The rain horror is very heavy to blind the next five kilometers. So many trucks, cars, buses and heavy machines are floating on the water like a paper. Due to heavy rainfall and landslides phone networks and electricity is out of order there.

Military force is helping people there to rescue from the disaster. Army is also facing lot of problems in saving the tourists. Sometimes the helicopters are also get crashed while rescuing the tourists. Army men found many dead bodies near the kedarnath temple and gaurikund. More than 10,000 army force, including peculiarly trained mountain troops of the army, personnel of the Indo-Tibetan border police, National Disaster Response Force and several other central and state teams were struggling against time to help people to safety and delivering food packets. At present rescue efforts are being concentrated in the Kedarnath and adjoining area in Rudraprayag district which has been the worst hit. Many helipads are also constructed in gaurikund.

Still the rain horror doesn’t go slow down here. The government declared that around two to three years the pilgrimage is closed for renovation. Our Prime Minister also declares one thousand cr rupees for relief fund. People who stuck in the disaster are suffering a lot there but our government is also making a fast relief camps for the survivals.
